How legit are these buisness's? Intial cost of setting up etc? Do you get told how much you have to outlay straight up or does it not get mention till you sign up and then get hit with it? I would like to start my own buisness working from home but very skeptical of what is out there - not knowing whether they are scams or not.

Moe i started with this company 10 years ago as a single mother because of this company i own my home, they made my car payments, and i now own a restaurant. This one is no scam please go to my profile and visit my website. I hope that i was of help have a great day.
You ABSOLUTELY have to research EVERY company you are considering. I did ALOT of research before I started my HBB and have never read a bad thing about the company I market for. You do not need any experience, you just have to be self motivated and hard working. The more you work, the more you make!

I posted this a few months back but think it is worth posting again.

I have seen many posts on looking for home based companies that are not scams, etc. I recently read a very good guideline for researching a direct selling company. It really comes down to doing research.

1. Decide what type of business you want (product, service, etc.)

2. Do your reasearch: talk to people, visit websites, request marketing material, are they a public company, do they belong to DSA (Direct Selling Association) or other industry associations, who are the principal owners and what is their vision for the company, do they have a fair compensation plan, technology used, what type of marketing materials are available, training available.

3. Focus on your two top choices and list the pros and cons of each.

4. Once you decide, give it all you got!

In doing research on the web, many businesses have negative comments so I think it is best to check out the company using the above guidelines.

You should definitely read up on network marketing/direct sales before you go into. You should also learn about marketing too. This way you will have a leg up on most people who just join a company and have no clue as to how to build it or market it.

Good luck.

These MLM home-based business are as legit as any other businesses or they would not be around. Initial cost all depends on which one you choose to be in. The one I just signed up is the best one so far I have been involved in. It's the easiest, and cheapest one I have been in. There are no hidden costs either. We have a great team, we are very well positioned at the moment and on the ground floor so any one signing up now will be very well positioned. We are all there to explain if you have questions and what to give it a try.
How legit are which businesses?

Are there legit businesses here? Absolutely! Are there bad businesses being promoted here? No doubt about it.

There are legitimate and good businesses that are called scams (mostly by people who have failed at them) and on the other hand there are copious guaranteed to be short term flashes in the pan that are complete jokes to sophisticated businesspeople that appear to many to be legitimate.

Are there legitimate businesses you should avoid? Probably.

YTB (Your Travel Biz) is legit. The more I find out about it the better I like it! The initial cost is $450 with a monthly $50 for the site which you can become exempt to by getting six teammates to sign up with you. Most all of the training tools are freebies. The founders of this business are out to help everyone become financially independent. Check out my website www.LetsGetAwaySoon.info and see if it is one you would like to do. The best thing is that you don't have to sell travel - everyone wants to travel. Your job is to tell everyone about your site so they can compare it with their usual discount sites. e-mail me if you are interested - I can call you and walk you through it or answer your q's - TiLiAnne TiLiAnne@LetsGetAwaySoon.com
Well there are a lot of these that are scams but most are legit. What I did before I joined a program was do research. I picked one buisness at a time and spent alot of time studying the buisness. When you ask for information you can usually get someone to talk to. I am not going to plug any of my buisnesses but if you need a little help feel free to contact me.

I agree with DreamWeaver! Find your passion or what you can become passionate about. MLM is just a way of compensation. It is absolutely legal and it works! Some companies that are not legit do not last long. Do your due diligence and check out the company or companies that you are looking at. There is a DVD that is called Dream It Big-Build It which the Direct Selling Women's Alliance put together with top leaders from a miriad of companies (hard core MLM to Party plan companies) that gives a very great picture from attorneys to professors to those involved in the business of MLM/Network Marketing. It is great! Anyone who is thinking of getting involved or is and wants a great informational type recruiting tool should have it in their library!!! go to www.mydswa.org and get it today! I am one of the leaders interviewed on the DVD and I have met every one involved in it...they are all tremedous leaders with integrity and a wealth of knowledge! Just a note.....I do not get ANY compensation for endorsing this DVD I just believe in it's message and content!
