Getting Free Traffic to my site

I have been trying different ways to get traffic to my site and I'm not having much luck
anyone share with how they are doing this ?

Hi

I get the majority of traffic to my site through article marketing and press releases. It really seems to work. I make sure to use good keywords and make the article informative, something that someone would want to read. Helps to establish myself as an expert. I also do a lot of online networking.

Hello Melissa,

My answer to your question is quite easy. I'm glad that you saw it from the get go. This industry is mainly about two things. Marketing/Promoting & developing value/leadership. In order to market correctly you need to find your niche market which will allow you to prospect more effectively. Do your research & find the area of market where people are looking for your product or service. Once you do this it will make the process much easier, making customers & possible new prospects magnetically come to you. This is the first step & since your brand new my best suggestion is to learn the basics first. Remember that in order to jump, you need to learn how to walk first. I hope you find this information valuable & take it into action.

Chris, Gail and Diana have given you excellent advice.

Keep in mind whenever you want free traffic you will have to invest some time. With that said a few things that work for me are:

1) Articles (as already stated)
2) Making informative posts on forums when I have time
3) Blogging on various sites using basic SEO techniques
4) Word of mouth
5) Press Releases (as already stated)
6) Creating an informative report and allow others to give it away with links back to your web site

The one thing you do not have too do is spend a lot of money. When in doubt about a marketing tool or resource do not take action until you get all of your questions answered.

Submit your site to web directories - Its a great way to get traffic and its free.

You can also think of installing a live chat feature at your website - It adds a great personal touch and make your site much more user-friendly

Hello Melissa,

You have gotten many good tips from the membership here thus far. They all seem like professionals in there own right so it's good to heed there advice. To add to that, another technique that you could use is getting actively involved in some social networks.

Social networking can work on a couple different levels. One, it will help you seek like minded people to network with. Secondly, if you're promoting your website, they also work at building backlinks and additional traffic to your website which strengthens your search engine rankings.

If you are going to actively participate in these networks, do as Shawn and Diana said, post some informative information and not just your links to your website. You want to be an active member in the community so post some articles or content based on the subject you are trying to promote. You'll be perceived as more of an expert after awhile if your content is good and people tend to follow recommendations and links by those that seem more informative.

And definitely get your marketing message right. There are other ways now to engage potential prospects and you should be dipping your toe into as many channels as possible to get exposure. Another way to do this is through internet TV such as youtube (or other IPTV platforms like viddler.com, repstars.tv or revver.com). Create a video on your topic of choice and put it out there to see what response you get. YouTube gets a ton of traffic so it's always good to get out there. RepStars.tv is a great place to post your content if you are trying to gain prospects since it allows people to contact you directly right from your video. Viddler has some great video and feedback tools and lets users comment right in your video.

So get out there and get noticed. Good luck with your efforts. Hope I was able to help even in the slightest bit.
