Looking to stay at home with sons
I am looking for an honest, work-from-home career in order to be able to stay home with my sons. However, every internet search I have come across only offers to "sell" me information to their success. I am not looking for get-rich-quick schemes. I am not giving my credit card information on -line to someone I don't trust. And, I am certainly not investing money in something I am not sure is going to work. In fact, if I am looking for something to earn money, why is it that I have to first put money into it? I am not interested in inventory and having to go door-to-door. I have done that before - takes alot of time, alot of energy, and alot of investment. I can't do that. My time, energy, and money are too precious to lose.

Hi there, I'm sorry I don't know your name... but I totally understand what you are saying. I think you have come to the right place! There are many scams out there for sure. I watched Tori Johnson on Good Morning America and she gave a whole list of things to look for in scams - many of which you already mentioned.
Here are some suggestions for you to help you in your "hunt".
1) First decide what you like to do. This is SO important to match the business you're in with your personal values and likes.
2) Look at your home business as a "new career". You will learn new skills to make your business successful. Surround yourself with supportive people. Usually it's family members who will squash your enthusiasm first by not believeing your business will succeed. Be open to learning new things and don't give up. Avoid the naysayers! They're usually just fearful of taking the plunge!
3)Research your company! How long have they been sround, what are there business packages? Training? Can you become a customer first to try the products? It's a good idea to do that because you want to like and know first hand what you're promoting. That's how I got started.
4)Learn, learn, learn about everything possible that will make you a success
5) Most network marketing companies should offer a range of packages for you to choose from.
6)Any business is a people business first, not product. So, if you don't like working with people....ut oh ...
7) Realize starting a business will require some financial investment. You will be the judge of how much. But, this is an investment that could change your life.
There are so many great businesses out there: scrapbooking, health and wellness, personal development, travel, fuel alternatives. You can also do a search for network marketing businesses, and also look for the Direct Marketing Association, I think that's what it's called. This is an association that network business need to/should join for company credibility. Also check out the company you are interested in the Better Business B---- (can't spell it) LOL!

Nice to meet you! Well, I have 2 social networking businesses. Shaklee and Success University. Both of these complement my coaching business.
Shaklee is a health and wellness company, over 50 years old and has a wide range of products, earth friendly, natural, anti-aging, etc.
Success University is an online educational program for people who want to improve their lives through learning about: business, relationships, spirituality, marketing, sales, and so on. When you become a student you have access to all kinds of courses by audio, video, and text. You can take tests and receive achievement awards. Then every month you get a "Power Pack" of educational, motivational information on CDs and DVDs in the mail. Kind of like a book club. I like both of these.

You wake up at 10 AM and look outside at the lovely day. The sun is shining with a slight brisk of wind with the birds are chirping in the distance. Now ask yourself what to do today? You are right, research thoroughly before jumping in!
