Hi, my name is Kerry Alayon-Babas and this is how I got here.
After 15 years of carrying the proverbial “sales bag”, something inside me snapped and I knew I had had enough.
When I first picked up the bag to sell, it was great. The industry I was in was wonderful for a young single person.
But, I promised myself that I would not be carrying that bag when I turned 40.
I went on to create a VERY successful and lucrative career for myself. But, as time went on, the industry began to go through dramatic changes. Changes that did not agree with my core made it difficult to tackle the daily grind. So, there I was spinning my wheels each day struggling to go and get it done with a positive attitude and a smile on my face. I was feeling frustrated, unchallenged and lost. I’ve lost a great deal of time that I will never get back.
Then I searched out an opportunity and tried to do something I always dreamed about. I started my own business with a network marketing company. I instantly achieved some success. However, it did not replace my income and proved to be too time consuming to continue. Then, I looked into some brick and mortar franchises and found the “perfect”
solution. It was something fun and exciting that I just knew would be great. With my business plan in hand, my financing lined up and a location secured and guess what happened?
BAM!!!.....
An opportunity came up and my husband’s career took off. It was taking off so well that he (and eventually my son and I) moved 250 miles away. Of course, my dreams were placed on hold. It was a bummer but I was committed to myself and my dream. I immediately scoped out an excellent location for my business. This one was even better than the first. I retained an attorney, made the call to get my financing rolling and…….
BAM!!!!!!!! A bomb hit our household!!!
My husband lost his job. The reason we relocated no longer existed. I was devastated. How could I possibly risk it all?
How could I walk away from a steady paycheck and benefits to try something new? I couldn’t. What I did do was try to supplement the lost income with other network marketing “opportunities”. You know the ones where you create your warm market lists, call on your family and friends to join you at a house party….etc. Well, that did not much improve my outlook or my situation.
My lowest point was? My lowest point was when I was not functioning in any facet of my life. I took a leave of absence from work and my family. In order to heal myself, I immersed myself in personal development books that reminded me about of the law of attraction and the power of our thoughts. Boy, were those laws of attraction at work in my life. It is just that I was not using them to my benefit. One of the books I found reminded me of many of the things I already knew deep down inside. It was, “A New Earth:
Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose”, by Eckhart Tolle. Within days of beginning to read this book everything around me began to change. (Or was it my thinking?)
After a long “date with my soul”, I made some changes in my life. I began looking at all of the wonderful things that were in my life and became thankful for all that was good. There were lessons in every experience I had. I’ve learned from each and every one. Now I give recognition to my talents and gifts and search for ways to share those with others.
I’ve learned that in order to take care of myself I have to have my own dreams and commit to making those come true. That being said I committed myself to starting my own business so that I would have the life that I dreamed. I searched high and low and found the company that totally resonates within me. It is an opportunity to do many of the things I really, really enjoy. I am part of 2 absolutely exploding industries; Personal Development and Internet Marketing. So, now I am able to help people discover their passion and live their dreams.
