How do i increase traffic?
Increasing your traffic is done by many different methods. There are offline methods, classified ads, grocery store bulletin boards, word of mouth, news paper ads etc. You have the whole world, not just the city your in. Of course you will need other people to place the physical ads in other cities.
Online is another headache, there are many ways to get noticed. The 1 most powerful ways is article marketing. What are you selling, write about it and link back to the product, do not advertise the product but write informative articles about what it is and any personal experience with it.
Another easy way is to post replies to other websites,blogs,forums all with your name and a link back to your store or individual sales pages. Make sure your replies are on topic and informative or you'll be looked on as a spammer
How can i promote myself via social networking?
For this you really just need to make sure your social sites have proper contact and information on them. Not blatant ads but info and images of your store or business. As a marketer I have a few of my marketing programs and my (new) web design business posted for people who are visiting my profile page to view. Next is to go and make friends, invite about 10 or more a day, but add a message that makes it personal, say something about there profile or page and this will defiantly attract more attention to you.
next is to post blogs and discussion posts as well as leave replies that give an answer and not an advertisement. It is OK to leave a signature with a url to your page of interest though.
Next is the paid advertising areas like google adwords, this is a long term process and it costs money.
For your last question "Is there someone that i could essentially get to do this for me? How much would it cost and who would be best?"
Yes there are many people who can do this for you and the prices will vary, depending on which methods you use. There are SEO specialists who target certain keywords and on page strategies, these can cost anywhere between a few hundred and a few thousand, it depends on what your having done. Getting others to place articles and post forum replies and blog replies can also be done through several services again costing between a few hundred and a few thousand dollars.
I am one of those people who charges for there services and I do all of the above. I have been in business for 8 yrs and online for 6yrs. I have been a marketer and business development specialist for the past 2 yrs. I work with SEO, keywords and search placement. I also use article marketing for my own advertising efforts and know the traffic that comes through articles. I am in web design school to further my understanding and to create more value.
