I think blogging should be a part of anyone's online business ventures, but should part of your regular daily/weekly activities; i.e., article submission, website directory submission, developing quality one way back links, and continual website content development).

I think the most important thing for driving traffic is to approach IM or any business for that matter as relationship building first and foremost. Relationship over Revenue. So many bloggers I've noticed are pitching a product and/or service and trying to SELL/SCAM there way to thier visitors/customers pocket books. Sure all IM want sales, but if it were not for the RELATIONSHIPS there would be not SALES.

I think what is impoertant for blogging and for that matter article writing is to write/blog with your visiotors/potnential customers point of view, what is it that you want the reader to take away from your blog or your letter? You need to understand your visitor and potnetial customer FIRST, by addressing their needs/concerns and by gaining their trust and confidence in you-can you then move to the next step in the process.

Write with passion and conviction. If you have developed the latest new "mouse-trap", tell why it is the best mouse-trap, explaining its' benefits, how it can help your visitors/potential customers-explain so in baisic unwordy terms. Hopefully you can speak honestly, truthfully and with personal conviction. Way too many IM-ers come across as phony. People can spot a phony a mile away and will click right out of your site.

Also, remember to use key words blended into your blog summary just as you do article marketing, don't overdo it though for fear of spamming the SEs.

I think blogging can be important to get people to get to know you. If you're selling something you are passionate about, then it will show through your blog posts, and people can trust you. I have bought things on-line from non-blogging businesses and businesses that blog.

The companies that blog can ask a higher price, and I also expect more personal transaction.
I buy from non-blogging companies when they have good prices.
