I thought I'd share this with everyone as it seems to be a common issue. Alot of programs are tracked by cookies. This means that the first time a person views an affiliates webpage, the persons browser remembers the link as the first one. If that person sees several other of the same affiliate pages and then signs up, they will sign up under the first persons affiliate page because that is what the browser remembers when it recalls the page.
When getting new members to join it is best to have them sign up from your instructions, telling them to clear there cookies and then join through the url you give them.
example:
Person visits web site
www.sale.com/=affilid#1
person then continues to surf a few days. Most people do not clear there cookies and will remember the url(
www.sale.com/=affilid#1)
as person continues to surf they may visit other affiliate pages
www.sale.com/=affilid#200
www.sale.com/=affilid#567
www.sale.com/=affilid#15
If person decides to take action finally on webpage url (
www.sale.com/=affilid#87)
The browser still remembers url
www.sale.com/=affilid#1 as the first one and will have person take action through this link. Therefore affilid#1 would get the credit even though they may have 'signed up' when they were on this url (
www.sale.com/=affilid#87).
Confusing? There are many ways a computer and affiliate program track new sign ups. Cookie are still the number one way as it is easiest for the program to do.
Here is a letter I sent to an affiliate to explain this.
"It is very unfortunate that This happens. I have had to have people sign up twice for the same reason. I think it is a cookie issue and it must be pressed that new members 'clear there cookies' before joining and making doubly sure they are joining under the right url.
This is common with many clubs as they are cookie based tracking.
It is always an issue when getting new members to do more than they want too. If the new members want the free position then they must sign up under the right person, that's all. If they are just joining and paying themselves then they may not want to change unless you can give them enough incentive to see why they should. Offer as much help as you can or bonuses and that is the most you can do.
I am positive I have had several members join from my advertising that ended up under someone else, it is the cookie thing again i believe. This is common again with many clubs, clickbank to name one. the best way is to contact them and put directions in an email for them to follow, Starting with clearing there browser cookies, then step by step walk them through joining from the link provided in the mail. This is the personalized approach. All affiliates have the cookie problem when signing up new members it is just that common. Get new Sign ups to clear there cookies before joining the best advice I can give at the moment.
I have never had a rude comment from Will (the admin) and he has always gotten back to my emails within 3-4 days. I believe now he is just swampped working his programs 20 hrs a day and just got caught up with answering all the questions about sign ups and where's my money Questions, Not to mention adding and confirming new paid positions. This is no excuse to be rude of course but long days and expectations can make some replies less than happy sounding. Still no excuse to be really rude or insulting, which I hope it wasn't.
Again I have had good relations and have had to have people sign up twice after clearing there cookies to be placed under me.
As for the comment cards please send me the info you want on the card so I can edit it, a program or title(short), the name you want on the card (wendy&tony example) your contact email and skype or msn id (if you want) a url you want on the card as well as a short quote for the bottom, Also if you have an image or a logo I can put that in there too. See the examples at
http://netmillionairesclub.ning.com/group/commentcards and tell me which design suits your needs. I am coming up with some more colours and designs to keep them interesting and readable. one of my new ones, the npn one shows the branding effect for a club, Do you have any colours you want as the background? The green top and black bottom on is nice and the colors are not that time consuming to change. Be imaginative and stand out from everyone else.
A light back ground and dark letters is most readable but the white letters on black stand out on the small cards. your choice.
A quick note. I have been marketing awhile and I wouldn't promote a program I did not believe in. I tend to question the admin at the beginning to see how responsive they are. I was one of the first ones in MR (10th member) and spoke with Will several times working out new members joining as well as when he instituted the gift program. I am happy with the advertising and the downline mailer. I am close to payout and this will be the real test. Does he pay. I have checked the forums and such and have not seen any post saying he does not pay. I believe he is honest and will pay when the time comes.
I put this in to verify myself more than Will. I will be as honest as I can with everyone. If a program goes bad I will tell my members and post about it so others may read, If you haven't read my realitynetworkers posts, they do just that , say when a program is not honest or paying. I believe in building strong relationships in marketing, not just money ties to my downline. We are all people here to make money, I believe we all can when we work at it and help each other as we can.
Thanks again
