I've used all the scripts my upline gave me, but I'm not getting good results. Anyone have any good tips on how to be more effective on the phone/in person?

Be positive and be real. Talk like a friend and look for the responses, "How much is it and how long until I make my money back" (not a good response) and explain how much can be made with a little effort. Next is the response"how much can I make" these people tend to be more likely to join as long as you can feel out what they want to hear. Some want to hear how great and solid a conpany is while others just want to know how fast they can make money.
Each should be talked to in way that makes it sound good and enticing to join. Do not Lie. Be creative.

I was looking for a course Melinda. In my search I found http://teamdreamlife.com/ which is exactly what I was looking for: how to become more brief & compelling with a greater sense of urgency! I'll probably check out that Mike Dillard product too at some point. I really want to hone my skills.

Great tips Pierce! I've already heard that "How much is it & how long..." question a few times. I didn't even think about it being a sign to look for.

The course from Mike Dillard is the way to go. Since someone already posted it, I will not.

Highly relevant and not very expensive.

My recommendation is to get people calling you instead of you calling them. It sets up the game totally different! Find out how here.

How about this for no cost. Practice and practice those scipts, internalize them. No ummms and uhhhs while you try to remeber what to say or where you were on the paper script so they just come out of your mouth like they have always been there. No ummms and uhhhs while you try to remeber what to say or where you were on the paper script. Find friend or family to practice with and have them be the devils adocate. Tape yourself ...... listen to how you sound. Hear where you are actually emphasizing and if it comes across like you want it to. It is amazing the difference on how we think we sound compared to how we are actually heard.
If you are really uncomfortable on the phone, you need to find other ways to prospect. While the phone cannot/should not be avoided completely, many people are just not comfortable with it. I would suggest that you set up some good online systems. One good resource for how to do this is http://www.NetworkingSecretsOnline.com.
