Hi
I have a friend who is looking to join the masses in becoming a home-based business. Only problem is she doesn't want to do marketing nor does she want to sign up to any company that has some program on offer for making money. She would rather work out her own formula (very independent girl) and strategise from there.

Shes a graphic designer and designs customised cards - invites, birthdays etc. And she's looking for anyone who has set-up a similar business to pick their brains basically or read any of their experiences.

Can anyone help with any info or has anyone done anything similar?

I've tried to convince her to come on HBB but she doesn't want to because she has signed up before and got spammed straight away. That has put her off joining again.

Would suggest she check out SendOutCards. I know you said she wants to do her own thing which she can with all the custom features but why reinvent the wheel when you already have the best online card business with SOC!
Hi Maryanne

Sounds like your friend has got some sense. That's half the trouble with many home biz owners. I think all of a sudden they change from being human into some automated one track minded machine. I do know however that some people take things very nicely in their stride and I believe they do so much better.

If your friends graphics and making cards biz is in harmony with the planet ie recycled card and paper maybe amongst other things... it may be Ok for her to check out Pledging for Change "Share Program".
The program is essentially a 4 tier affiliate program and 100% of the profits goes to grants and financial support for sustainable business. It relies on a "one off investment" for an advertisement in their ethical directory. It's all very new and undergoing branding etc. The "share program" is available for sustainable business, charities, non profits and fund raisers. And it doesn't matter what the business model is as long as it is promoting positive impact for the planet

I would think that promoting a 4 tier program is in essence a second income or home based business opportunity. And it's always nice to be part of something special whilst generating an income too!
There is also opportunity to sign up under a charity or even someone else who is building a dream.

I'll give you two choice links to check out. These are not my links as I do not have a business. I am an ethical consumer and simply love to buy eco products.

This link is to a young man called ROB he is building his dream for his eco business which sounds really good

And here is a link to a lady who is trying to stop live animal skinning in china she wants to use her income to fight for this great cause.

I know there will be more links to choose from in the future as Pledging for Change is inviting share program members to add their links into each group.

Hope it helps!
Sue
