How Authority Blogs are Getting Millions of Visitors Every Month - My Research Report

From quite sometime, I have been researching on the traffic driving strategies and traffic sources of high authority blogs
using various resources. Today, I want to share this article with you.

I also used tools like compete.com. Now, this may not be the most accurate tool to analyze traffic reports of a
website but it helps.

The blogs that were in my watchlist include, probloggers.net, smartpassiveincome.com,
shoutmeloud.com,dailyblogtips.com, doshdosh.com, quickonlinetips.com
etc,,,

Apart from the obvious things like a good looking blog, a nice blog structure, a good writing style etc, I found few points very
similar in all these sites.

a. Google: Google is the primary traffic source for many of them. These blogs have
vast data of information that almost every article gets ranked for some
or the other keywords. I found that they are not running behind Google,
but Google is running behind them. They are more bothered about
providing killer content to their readers. And hence, Google loves them.

b. Facebook: The second most
important traffic source for these blogs is Facebook. Next comes
Stumbleupon and Twitter. Now this tells us that no matter what, WE HAVE
TO utilize social networking communities to build a huge subscriber
base, else we are losing out a lot of traffic.

c. Guest posting: The next major traffic sources are from their guest posts.

This is also their primary marketing strategy during the initial days
of promotion.

They network with other blog owners in their market and do tons of
guest posts.

d.Time period: Almost all these blogs took a minimum of 6 months to get consistent
traffic.

e.Their content often gets picked up by sites like alltop.com and digg.com.

f. Another interesting point I found is that all these blogs are ranked in 1st page of Google for almost every
possible keyword of a particular niche. For example, doshdosh.com ranks
for many keywords related to social media promotion. Similarly,
problogger.net ranks for almost every keyword related to blogging.

Finally, here is what beginners can do to run a successful blogging business in 6
months.

a. Create a good looking blog with easy navigation (I suggest to use Wordpress Thesis theme)

b. Provide killer content to the readers. Readers are always interested to learn personal blogging
experiences, case studies etc.

c. Network with other bloggers and do lots of guest pots.

d. Make sure that you submit content to high profile sites like lifehacker.com. Content from such sites often
hit front page of Digg.

e. Use Facebook, Twitter and Stumbleupon to reach your targeted audience. Network and communicate with them.
