Imagine someone was wanting to start a home based business and was using the internet to do some research. Let's also say this person has no experience in network marketing.

Which do you think would be more important to them..... the company they joined or the person they picked as their sponsor?

While they may care a lot about what products they will be marketing, the most important thing in their mind is likely to be..... "who can help me get to where I want to go"?

People join other people, they do not join companies! Network marketing is a relationship building business. This is why spamming doesn't work. You could have the best product or company on earth, but unless the person looking for an opportunity feels YOU are the person that can help them, they will join someone else.

Now imagine that you had personally sponsored 100 people, and that you were earning $20,000 a month in your network marketing business. Would you have gotten their by spamming your opportunity? Or would you continue to spam?

No of course not. Anyone who has gotten to that level knows it's about leadership and being the kind of person that attracts others to them. It's not about chasing others but letting those who are interested come to them.

It's a business and life changing concept when learn to be - do - and have.

This means being a leader first, doing the actions necessary to build a big business, and then having the success we deserve.

Most people have this backwards. They think they need to DO first. We must be a leader and a successful person FIRST and then these things will come to us.

How do i get people to come to me who are looking for a business.
Chris is right. It takes discipline to learn the skills to be successful on the internet, but many have done it. Blogging, videos, using social networking sites responsibly and article writing are ways to brand yourself. In addition, you need an autoresponder and a newsletter.

It takes patience as well as your business will not grow overnight. You need to give it a few weeks of consistent effort, after awhile your efforts will really start to compound and you can be building almost on autopilot. I say "almost" because if you have a network marketing business you do need to make calls, train your downline, etc. But attraction marketing will allow people to come to YOU, rather than you do the chasing.

Joanne,

You are giving some very solid advice! The one thing I really can't stand is all of the "you will make 3,5,12 thousand dollars this week" kind of stuff. In my opinion, what this industry needs is a huge infusion of integrity. Over promising and misleading people is just not the way to build a long term successful business. What do you think is going to happen to your people when you simply can't deliver on what YOU promised? Building strong business relationships based on integrity, hard work, knowledge, marketing and yes, some time, is the recipe for a successful business!

Meet people and see if you can fill a need somewhere for them!
