Like Many others looking for a Homebase Bussiness, but overwelmed
Hi My name is Greg and I work a 40 hour job and I am close to retirement , plus marrying a wonderful woman and I would like to suppliment my retirement and share a homebase bussiness
with my future wife and spend more time with my wife. I have tried twice in my life to work from home and have been burned twice , so I am very skeptical. I do not want to make someone else rich at my expense, but just supplement my retirement and have time to do the things I want with a new wife.

Greg, first of all congratulations!!! Making a decision like this is important - you need to weigh what you are willing to invest (both time and money), what is important to the both of you, find something that does not compromise your belief system either! I think it is so important to keep the priorities straight: Family, faith, business. And with the business, it has to be something you can believe in or it just will not work. I have found a business I truly believe in and it works for me and my family - that is the important bit right there. Make a list of what is important to the BOTH of you - then you have a starting point. And feel free to ask any of us around here, me included, for any help - I think we all would give it.

Hi Gregory ,
You have to ask yourself first . How much time are you going to spend on your homebusiness ? It is not like a 40 hour a week job . It is possible that you work more hours then that . In order to be successful you have to be a active person , refer , communicate and motivate .

well to start with I would like to put in only part time as I am off three days a week from my other job. then when my fiance arrives here from the Philipines , she will work the bussiness full time at home , and I will assist her.

Greg, the key to what company to join is the PEOPLE you will be working with! While you may be working from home, you will need the support and training from those in your company, so you should have a great relationship with them. Greg, there are a lot of business and franchises out there that you can start. You must first evaluate you. What is your position right now physically, mentally and financially an also what are you interested in because you will much likely to succeed in something you enjoy doing. Congrats on your upcoming marriage and retirement. Its a great time to start evaluating new opportunites and finding something enjoyable and able to do at home.
My first suggestion is to be open minded to all the wonderful opportunities that are out there. I see that you have tried in the past to work from home so you now have some great experience you have learned from that you can use while evaluating other opportunities you may find.
Secondly, what are some of your interests or hobbies? You can search for some opportunities that fit your interests or hobbies so they will be more enjoyable and will allow you to offer expertise with all your great knowledge.
Lastly, Ask yourself how much time are you willing to invest with a home based business/online business? You will be married soon yet retired so your available time may just be perfect right now.
Just some things to think about while you are evaluating your next move. I have been in the home based business/online opportunity field for awhile and I appreciate when my friends and family like my business and are able to support me.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage and being close to retirement. You certainly have gotten a lot of responses to your question. You are probably reading these thinking "which of these shall I investigate." Here are important factors to consider:
1. Decide how much time you are willing to put into it and how much money do you want to make.
2. You also probably don't want to invest a lot of money upfront, at this point in your life so keep up front costs low.
3. Have a business that is recession proof, especially in this economy
4. Be affiliated with a company that will give you a lot of support, training, be financially sound, have strong ethical leadership
5. Have a business that you can build a substantial income in just a few years. You don't want to work forever, especially after retirement.

That is why I am involved with the company I am in. No pressure, in fact it is super easy. I give my product away for free and they use it without even realizing it.
