I signed up for this network two years ago, I was immediately bombarded by pitched - JOIN MY SCAM. I rarely came back.
There are some really great people here who are very serious about running legitimate businesses that truly serve people.
What do you do about the pitches? Block them?

Hi Roger,
Your concerns are everybody's concerns. We've blocked thousands of users due to spamming. That's helping but it's not enough. We block more and more every day but there is simply no way to weed out the spammers once and for all.
New user registrations now take from one to two days because we are screening every single registration attempt manually. That works for the obvious spammers but smarter ones will make legitimate registrations and then go back to spamming once approved.
Unfortunately, the home business space is the perfect place for spammers. The economy sucks and people are willing to grab any straw that could potentially help them emerge from a bad financial situation. And that is exactly what spammers are looking for - people willing to take a shot.
If anyone knows any scalable spam-fighting solutions, it would be very helpful to hear them =)
Happy Holidays to all!
The HomeBasedBusiness network.

Don't make a big deal about spammers. You can use them to your advantage.
Spammers are here and in any other social network, it's a fact of life. You just have to live with them. They just don't know how to market them self and will never succeed on anything. I just don't put too much attention to them and I go on with my life. Some times I even use them as new prospects, and if I convert them to my own business, then I will have the opportunity to educate them on how to market properly.
Hope this will help you,
To your success

I totally agree . I;ve joined groups that very soon got covered up with flashing lights, false ads, empty promises.
We have several Health/ wellness products that do what they say. The co. is honest from the git-go. No added charges after you think you're in, like most that turn out to be schemes/ scams. XANGO (mangosteen) Juice, our no. 1 product, has helped at least 2 of my health problems, one of which is the chronic back pain I suffered from for 6, 7 years.
Permalink Reply by Roger Blazic on December 14, 2011 at 10:53pm You bring up a good point. Most of them don't know anything and they could become clients. I have no interest in MLM's or other businesses like that, but I am an expert at Internet and Social Media Marketing. I will have courses coming out in 2012. I can work them for business. Thanks Luigi. Good idea.

Permalink Reply by Roger Blazic on February 6, 2012 at 8:54am This day has finally arrived. Sometime in the next 48 hours... by February 8, 2012... a seven year empowerment project will begin to be gradually unveiled, with an opening date on March 23, 2012.
This will be the largest Internet construction project in history, maybe not based on volumes of content, but by the diversity or content and the range of how that content is presented.
Millions will benefit, because all can earn. Starting checking www.OE3.me

This makes it easier for the genuine people to put their opportunities up.
I also like the blogging facility, I will add blog posts I have originally posted on my own site occasionally when I think the material is useful to the users here.
I certainly sympathise with the spammer issue, I totally agree with Luigi, convert them to prospects and teach them the way of the respected internet marketer so they can change their wicked ways.
Kind regards
Jason
