Why is there so much self promotion on this site?
It is so sad to see so much self promotion and pushing on this site.
I never realise until I joined...people don't even welcome you as a member without posting their advert to their welcome message...I'm sorry but I delete those who do that!
Has anyone experienced any sales being part of this network?
You want some free tips?
People usually buy from someone (or buy something) they have come to know, like and trust!
We make purchases to cure problems and pains :-)...you need to know your clients pains so you can offer them solutions.
Shoving stuff down peoples throats or posting unwelcomed adverts will not produce an endless stream of clients!
If you truly want to network correctly stop thinking about yourself and your business...give..you might actually get!! But if not at least you will be considered a nice person and not a pushy sales person!!
That is my gripe about this site :-)

It's true i am guilty of this myself. As soon as i see the opportunity I throw promote my company right away. But at the same time this is a site for people looking to start a home based business and also for people looking to promote theirs. It's understandable for any other social media site but this one is for people to share their own businesses so their really isn't nothing wrong with it. I've experienced sales and made great partners off this site. If your business truly has something to offer then there really shouldn't be too much of a problem going straight to business. Of course many would agree so let's discuss ;)

The amount of people that throw their opportunity to the masses is incredible! I had no idea either until I got into the forums. Do people really fall for that? I cannot imagine that anyone would jump on the bandwagon that quick - maybe they do, but I am put off by it.

Nonetheless, let me be one of (I hope many) to welcome you to the forum - heck I'm brand new myself. I hope you and your family seriously have a wonderful 4th of July.
PLEASE let's remember those (lift them up in prayer) who are currently serving to keep our great country free (realize that China doesn't have open discussion forums like we do - no offense to the chinese but it's true) and pray for those who have served in our Military.

I think Lisa is right, people only like to do business with people that they feel comfortable with. Share some worthy info, establish yourself as an expert in your field and you won't have to advertise and solicit all the time. People will seek you out.
