Mooresville, NC – Striker is proud to introduce the newest hand tool to the BISS product line, the Striker Mechanical Carpenter Pencil. The Striker is a revolutionary mechanical carpenters’ pencil that is quickly replacing the traditional carpenters’ pencil on the job site. There has been almost no innovation to the traditional carpenters pencil since the 17th century, despite the fact that carpenters’ pencils are used by nearly all trades in the construction industry, including DIY, on a daily basis. If all your other tools evolved as slowly as your primary marking devise, you would all be pounding in nails with a rock.

No more sharpeners, utility knives or broken pencils. The Striker allows carpenters to make crisp, sharp lines right out of the packaging. When more lead is needed, simply press the cap of the pencil to advance the lead.

WRAP launches new innovative online tool for construction waste recovery

Source: Materials Recycling Week

Oct. 2, 2009

The Waste & Resources Action Programme has launched an innovative new tool, allowing materials recycling operators and waste management contractors to track recovery rates.

Aimed at those working in the construction industry and committed to halving waste to landfill, the Site Specific Waste Analysis Tool enables firms to record each consignment of construction, demolition and excavation waste processed at their facilities.

WRAP programme manager for materials recycling Mike Falconer Hall said: “The recycling industry is undergoing a transformation. Contractors are now offering ever increasing levels of consultancy to their clients, offering professional guidance as to the most efficient way to manage resources and recover materials.”

Alongside this, a series of model contractual clauses have also been drawn up to demonstrate to construction clients that the waste contractors they work with are committed to good practice, and have transparent and auditable waste recovery rates.

Laguna introduces their latest Industrial Series machine, the Raised Panel Master. This machine is designed to allow a single operator to produce a complete cabinet door in less than 2 minutes. The single-piece welded steel frame provides the ultimate support for chatter-free work. The heart of the machine is a shaper spindle which holds all three cutters needed to produce a door. The spindle is powered by a 10 HP motor for smooth cuts and is quickly positioned from the front of the machine with a dial. The turret system insures complete accuracy without test cuts and the pneumatically controlled spindle height is quickly set. The 2 axis sliding table rides on linear bearings in all directions and includes a pneumatic hold-down clamp for quick setup. The pneumatic EZ fence quickly positions stock for the next cut. A large diameter tracer bearing provides perfect control for straight and curved template following. For more information contact Laguna Tools at 800.234.1976 or visit www.lagunatools.com

Roll Core Gripper attached to a fork trucks fork showing the automatic clamp and unclamp feature while lifting a 600# roll. No air, electrical or hydraulic hook-up is needed. Just secure to one fork with the jack bolts and you have an inexpensive lift assist device. Go to http://www.intelitech-services for ordering information.
