Interest in these writing challenges has grown, so I have decided to create a site with monthly divisions for the various contests. You do the writing and I will do the organizing and all of us will grow together.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BRIAN!!! His story, "The right one came along... after" earned 2/3 votes. Judges comments are below.
The prize this month is a 5x5" very small book for a very small tale... a $35 value.
Interest in these writing challenges has grown, so I have decided to create a site with monthly divisions for the various contests. You do the writing and I will do the organizing and all of us will grow together.

Many of my girlfriends have lost their jobs.
Some have been at my house in tears.
Some cant even think straight now.

- I am passionate about empowering others to tell their stories. I have had the privilege of listening to the most fascinating heritage stories, to viewing the most amazing travel photos, to reading the most amazing poetry since I have joined this company. - Driving my daughter to and from dance is a major activity of mine! I also love to do my kundalini yoga, eat licorice, walk with my friend Denise, read books like "eat, pray, love" and write, write, write! I have an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults and spent lots of time Skyping my eldest daughter who is spending her junior year in France.

- I am interested in hearing other people's stories. I am interested in people with unique points of view- which means everyone, Integral spirituality, art galleries, movies that aren't violent, reducing credit card debt, black cats and orange cats and schnauzers and poodles living in harmony, why people vote for a particular candidate, public radio, Garrison Keiller, my family history, my children's futures, how to distinguish elegant and tasty wines and beers.
- Favorite Books:
- As mentioned above, I loved "eat, pray, love." Currently I am reading the third in the Libba Bray series with my daughter. I liked A FIne Balance by Rohinton MIstry and everything written by Madeleine L'Engle from age 10 and Cynthia Vogt and Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea series. I loved Harry Potter- I read all the books- and I just purchased another Mistry book called Family Matters that I look forward to beginning tonight.

"It was a Wednesday at 5:46 p.m. Central Time (5-28-2008). I was putting away groceries while my kids were playing outside. A call came into my cell phone that said "Private Call" and I went to answer but I couldn't hear anything so I hung up. Focused Storytelling
Sharing a personal story with family and friends can be an amazing experience for everyone... if the story is honed.
Sure, it's difficult to bypass fascinating side roads. And torture to select one photo from the hundreds of digital photos commemorating your all important event or memory or family tale.
Still, it's like telling a joke. The simpler the expose, the more powerful the punchline.
When your stories are clean enough to go deep, friends will feel honored when invited to experience th… Continue
