- I have come a long way from the forlorn Pommy kid that went with my parents and brother to the other side of the planet, when they emigrated to the Pacific back when I was 5. I grew up without an extended family of course, and I guess I saw my life as somewhat lacking as a result.
As a kid, I always said I wanted to be a school teacher.I think I subconsciously wanted a lot of control and an easy life, because I thought teachers worked from 8:30 - 3:30 and had long holidays.Boy! Was I wrong!On both counts. Teachers work early, stay late, work nights, AND weekends and even part of the school holidays. And control! Ha!A lot of kids, some parents, and a bureaucracy put a stop to that.
So, I got out and, not very originally, chose to follow my mother by becoming a full-time potter, making wheel-thrown pottery. Thats an idyllic life, I thought. Wrong again, Markus.
I was pretty good, but the hours, the business side, and the income.Argh!
So how did I find my way online? Well, I was actually visiting my brother back in the nineties. He was upgrading and gave me his daggy old computer, and I was hooked. I got online straight away, taught myself html and the like. I even went and learnt Autocad, a drafting package, so that I could work with computers for a living. One thing led to another and now, I spend most of the day in front of the "beast" and half the evening too. So it was inevitable that I would stumble across Internet marketing and jump in at the thought of working from home with computers.
My previous mlm companies all have good products, and a pretty well thought-out pay plan, but my sponsors have been just that; sponsors, not teaching, not mentoring. They did not mentor/teach me how to be an effective marketer. I am finding now that numerous young people contact me with great computer knowledge, but no internet marketing knowledge to make the program work for them.
